After our little one turned 5 it was time to take him to the most magical place on earth! Yes!!! Walt Disney World!!! What a fun trip it was indeed!! I would like to share with you some of my trip secrets that made it successful and economical!!
Some of the fun of being in Disney atmosphere is to be in “Mickey” gear. I went to my local Disney store and bought matching Mickey t-shirts for the entire family. How cute right?
I had packed the van with Mickey Mouse coloring books, reading books, and Disney entertainment so our Disney adventure started from home. We had enough snacks and drinks to last us a month loaded in there too (this way every gas station stop wouldn't yield in another $30).
Then I picked up little knick knacks to surprise my 5 year old. How did I surprise him? Well, there was obviously way too much excitement, so first we got him to calm down with serenity oil (applied to the bottom of his feet) and got him to go to bed. Mickey would 'magically' come into our hotel room and leave him a surprise! One night he got a Mickey hat and sunglasses. He even swears he saw Donald Duck come and give him a T-shirt. The spark of excitement goes to another level and the best part is that all of this was bought economically and not at park prices!!
My aunt had gifted Sohum a Mickey bubble wand that lights up and he blew bubbles all day long! Oh my it was the best gift. It was IDENTICAL to the ones sold at the park and half price at the Disney outlet. He was on top of the world when he opened it at the park.
Another way we saved money was taking peanut butter sandwiches, drinks and snacks with us. It wasn’t only about saving money, but we saved lots of time too. The restaurant lines were almost just as long as some of the rides. Plus we ate while we stood in line to kill time and hunger at the same time!
I am sure you all know to get fast passes (they're free!) and to get good seats for the parade and the gorgeous fireworks at the castle.
Items we used every single day, why, and how:
OnGuard hand sanitizing mist: In addition to our hands, we used this on hotel beds, picnic tables, bathrooms, and constantly throughout the parks as we were amongst thousands of people (we went during spring break).
Deep Blue: No brainer that there is ALOT of walking. We put deep blue on all of our legs before we started the park. It keeps helps your muscles ahead of time for the daily parade. Not going to say we weren’t tired by the night fireworks, but our legs definitely thanked us!!
Peppermint Beadlets: Standing in line for hours and in heat can make you lethargic. We needed a way to refresh so, we all popped beadlets randomly throughout the day to keep us energized and fresh. It replaces the place for gum with all the positive benefits too!!
Digest Zen: My husband needs it all the time. He has major stomach issues. It’s his lifesaver!
LLV Vitamins: of course!!
5 oils to make FLOOM just incase anyone felt something coming on
- Frankincense, Lemon, Oregano, Ongaurd, Meleluca
- I also kept lavender because with the new beds and atmosphere you need a little something to help you relax and sleep.
Sometimes a crazy Disney adventure can seem stressful. You may even thing that you need a vacation just after that vacation, but all the things above made us really enjoy being in the MOST MAGICAL PLACE ON EARTH!
